Privacy Policy

Miva LMS Study Helper is a browser extension designed to help students track their learning progress on Miva University's Learning Management System. We are committed to protecting your privacy.

Data Collection

Miva LMS Study Helper does not collect any personal information. The extension only:

• Reads course and activity information from Miva University's LMS pages you visit
• Stores your course progress data locally in your browser's storage

Data Storage

All data is stored using Chrome's built-in storage APIs. No data is ever sent to our servers or any third party.

• Course progress data (activity completion status, timestamps) is stored locally on your device via chrome.storage.local and never leaves your device.
• Study list (your bookmarked courses) is stored via chrome.storage.sync, which means Chrome may sync it to other devices where you are signed into the same Google account — using Google's own infrastructure, not ours. This is the same mechanism used by Chrome's own bookmarks and settings. You can disable Chrome Sync at any time in your Chrome settings.

We have no access to any of this data, regardless of which storage mechanism is used.

Data Transmission

This extension does not:

• Send any data to external servers
• Use any analytics or tracking services
• Share data with third parties
• Access any websites other than lms.miva.university

Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions:

• storage: To save your course progress locally on your device
• activeTab: To read course information from the current Miva LMS page
• tabs: To manage extension views and navigation
• Host permission (lms.miva.university): To operate only on Miva University's LMS website

Your Control

You have complete control over your data:

• Export: Download all your data as a JSON file from the Settings page
• Import: Restore your data from a previously exported file
• Delete: Remove individual courses or clear all data from the Settings page
• Uninstall: Removing the extension will delete all stored data

Updates to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
